Sodding

Sodding is the process of laying pre-grown grass, known as sod, onto prepared soil to establish a new lawn quickly. Unlike seeding, which takes time to germinate and grow, sodding provides an instant lawn that can be used almost immediately after installation. The sod is typically grown on a farm, harvested in rolls or squares, and then transplanted to the desired location. Sodding is ideal for areas where quick results are needed, such as new homes, commercial properties, or erosion-prone areas. Proper soil preparation, including grading and leveling, is essential to ensure good root contact and successful establishment of the sod. Regular watering and care are required during the initial weeks to help the sod root firmly into the soil.
